We Are Growing!!

MVA is thrilled to have welcomed 5 new members since March 2022. And we will be hosting a 3-week Membership Drive in October 2022 — specifically the 6th, 13th and 20th.*

In addition to experiencing our physical and vocal warm-ups, guests will receive a 1/2 hr. vocal lesson with one of our directors. They will also work on Let There Be Peace On Earth and It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year with the chorus. Access to online learning materials will be provided.

The highlight of this Membership Drive will be the participants’ performance of these songs with us on our fall show November 13th!

The Path to Open Division

Springtime brings Sweet Adelines' regional competition season to MVA each year. COVID19 shut down our opportunity to compete in 2020 and 2021. But we're back in 2022 preparing for another fun contest season. This year we'll submit our Open Division package via video.

MVA loved sharing part of Valentine’s Day weekend with our “parody extraordinaire” coach Karen Sweeters.  With Karen’s guidance, our directors, Sally, Becky, and Carol (on Zoom), were able to further polish our Open Division contest package. Song lyrics and interpretation, costuming and prop usage, script delivery and visual plan are now in much better shape. Our missing members will be able to catch up in no time!

Welcome 2022 with MVA….

Merrimack Valley A Cappella enters 2022 with a bang! We are back for live rehearsals in our Andover home, Temple Emanuel, 7 Haggetts Pond Road. With a hybrid of in-person (vaccinated, masked and socially distanced) and virtual (via Zoom) rehearsals, we meet on Thursday nights from 7:15 to 9:30 PM. We are currently auditioning new members.

Our chorus recently completed our 4th live performance since World Singing Day on 10/16/21.  We are busy honing our singing skills and expanding our reach into our community. Performing is what we love to do…changing lives through song!
