Happy Spring! Busy Spring!

MVA has been hard at work preparing for our Regional competition that takes place during the third weekend of May. We've spent quality time with some of our favorite coaches, honing our vocal skills and polishing our competition songs.

On May 7, we're presenting our annual Spring Cabaret to showcase our competition package. We've invited a variety of quartets to join us. And we're gearing up for a special silent auction during the Cabaret, which will feature items from local businesses and artisans. Wait 'til you see and hear all we've got to offer that day! Tickets are still available online and at the door.

'Tis The Season

The end of 2022 is approaching and MVA has been singing up a holiday storm! We welcomed guest singers in October and some of them even sang with us in our annual show when we celebrated Falling in Love with Barbershop.

During the show on November 13, we honored our nation's veterans, complete with a color guard, revived our contest package about singing on Zoom, and welcomed the holidays with songs like Let There Be Peace On Earth, Light One Candle, and It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year. The chorus was joined by several marvelous quartets. The audience packed the house and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon!

Answering the Call...

One MVC Member Reflects...

Seven short years ago, gathering up a small measure of courage, I made one of the best decisions of my life. It was one of those game-changing decisions that helped to define the person I am today. I took a chance on an ad that had been running fairly regularly in my town newspaper. Free singing lesson! A local chorus had been inviting women to visit one of its weekly rehearsals and get a free singing lesson in the deal. As the holiday season approached, the chorus was now recruiting women to learn a couple of Christmas songs with them and then to join them on stage to sing those two songs at their annual show.
